Atlantic City Housing Authority to hold emergency meeting Tuesday to authorize response to HUD takeover

This is exactly why we need to change Atlantic City for the better. The federal government stepping in to take control of our Housing Authority is a clear sign that the current system is failing the people it’s meant to serve. Families are living in unacceptable conditions—battling mold, pests, and unreliable heat—while leadership scrambles to respond instead of delivering real solutions. Our residents deserve safe, dignified housing and leadership that puts them first. It’s time for accountability, transparency, and a new direction that puts the needs of Atlantic City families at the heart of every decision.

HUD is Taking Federal Possession of Atlantic City!

After years of fighting, HUD is finally taking federal possession of the Atlantic City Housing Authority. I have been pushing for this takeover, and Secretary Turner stepped up and delivered. Accountability is here.

The failure of the Soar and Shore Airshow in Atlantic City is a glaring example of how far our city has fallen in event planning and public engagement. Once known for drawing massive crowds and boosting local business, the show fizzled this year due to poor promotion, weak infrastructure, and a lack of cohesive vision from city leadership. If Atlantic City wants to compete as a serious destination, we must invest in better planning, modern amenities, and real community involvement. Half-hearted efforts won't revive our economy — bold, strategic action will.

The Soar and Shore Airshow is today!

The Soar & Shore Festival’s upcoming airshow in Atlantic City promises high-flying excitement with vintage warbirds, elite aerobatics, and military flyovers — all free to the public. But behind the spectacle lies a rocky history: last year’s airshow was abruptly canceled due to poor planning, unstable funding, and lack of consistent community engagement. While this year’s event is packed with thrilling acts, we can’t ignore the need for more reliable support and a clearer vision that prioritizes local residents as much as tourists. Atlantic City deserves well-organized events that uplift the whole community, not just one-off entertainment.

We Need More Big Fishing Tournaments In the City!

The Boys & Girls Club of Atlantic City is giving away fresh fish, including blue marlin, bigeye, and yellowfin tuna. All thanks to generous donations from Jimmy Johnson's Atlantic City Quest for the Ring Championship and local sponsors. This event shows the power of community driven efforts to support local families, but it also highlights the need for more fishing tournaments in Atlantic City. And not just offshore, but right here on our shores. It's time to make our jetty system, famously known as the “Fish Trap,” more accessible and safe, and to host regular tournaments from the jetties and beaches so all residents can participate in and benefit from our city’s rich coastal resources.

Atlantic City pair arrested in killing of man found on overpass near High School

A man was shot late Sunday night on the Route 40 overpass near Atlantic City High School, an area just steps from where students walk daily. William Tucker, 52, is charged with murder, and Sabrina Hearns Evans, 30, is accused of helping him flee. A witness saw the shooting unfold after both men exited a vehicle. The pair was later found with drugs, ammo, and scales in a nearby apartment. This incident underscores how unsafe our streets and schools have become.
